Morgado-Dias received the master’s degree in microelectronics from the University Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France, in 1995, and the PhD degree from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, in 2005. He is currently an Associate professor with the University of Madeira and a Researcher with the Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute and ITI/LARSyS. His research interests include renewable energy, artificial neural networks, and FPGA implementations.

Fábio Mendonça was born in Funchal, Portugal, in 1990. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical and telecommunications engineering from the University of Madeira, Portugal, in 2013 and 2016, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal, in 2021.

Sheikh Shanawaz Mostafa received the B.Sc. Eng. degree in electronics and communication engineering from Khulna University, Khulna, Bangladesh, in 2010 and the M.Sc. degree in biomedical engineering from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Khulna, Bangladesh, in 2012. He finished the Ph.D. degree in Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon in the program Networked Interactive Cyber-Physical Systems at Instituto Superior Técnico in a partnership with CMU (Carnegie Mellon University) and LARSyS.

Ankit Gupta received Bachelor of Technology in Bioinformatics from Jaypee University of Information technology,India in 2012 and Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from Maharishi Markandeshwar University,India in 2015.He is currently pursuing his PhD from University of Madeira. He has been involved in designing machine/deep learning approaches for various domains e.g. Alzheimer’s detection using MRI scans, student performance evaluation. Besides, he had worked on designing mobile health solutions for Alzheimer’s patients and caregivers.

Diogo Freitas completed a Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Applications in 2020 from the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Engineering of the University of Madeira and a Degree in Computer Engineering in 2017 from the same institution. He is currently a PhD student in Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Engineering at the University of Madeira and a researcher at the Interactive Technologies Institute. His research interests include artificial neural networks and stochastic optimization algorithms.

Preety Baglat completed her bachelor's and master's degree degree in computer science from Shoolini University, India in 2018 and 2020 respectively. During her master's she had also enrolled as a visiting student in the MaRS scholarship program at the Universita della Svizzera Italiana, Switzerland, and spent one semester during her master's in the Erasmus student exchange program at the University of Naples, Federico II, Italy. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student of Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Exact Science and Engineering at the University of Madeira and also working as a researcher at the Interactive Technologies Institute, Funchal. Her research interests include machine learning, Deep learning, and Software engineering.

João Gonçalves, 46 years old, is director in Asseco PST, an Information Technology company specialized in the development of banking software, where he has been working since 2013. He is currently responsible for Data & Analytics, CRM and implementation of Payment Systems projects. He graduated in Economics in 1998 from the Faculty of Economics of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL). After completing the course, he devoted himself to research, development and testing of specific software for banking institutions and for the Lisbon Stock Exchange, at CEGE – Centro de Estudos de Gestão Empresarial at UNL. In March 2001, he joined Accenture as a consultant, from where he moved to the consulting firm Datacomp five years later, as Deputy Director of Banking Services. At the beginning of 2009, he set a new course for his professional life, by taking over the role of director in the consulting firm Via Consulting, where he remained until August 2013. Throughout his professional life, he has had the opportunity to be envolved in projects for several national and international banking institutions, including bank Santander, CGD, BAWAG P.S.K. (Austria), Bank National Algerie and Millenniumbcp.
